Kudos to CA DMV website appointment portal

I had to go the DMV to adjust a glitch in their system about my car. I checked online on Yelp to see which DMV is best near me in West LA. Surprisingly, most people had positive things to say about the DMV but everyone consistently recommended making an appointment. So, I checked the appointment time for Santa Monica branch and the earliest appointment available was the end of the week. But (here's why I gave kudos), the site offered other appointment options for all the branches nearby. Van Nuys had a time for the same morning I needed, so I booked it. I showed up at the branch two hours later, and was in and out in 15 minutes. That was the fastest DMV visit ever and mostly painless. Unfortunately, I was told the DMV couldn't make the adjustment on their computers so asked me to call Sacramento directly. I've been waiting for 1.5 hrs now to get a call back and still waiting... The experience is better but there is certainly room for improvement.
