The Winner Effect Says One Win Leads To Even More

The Winner Effect Says One Win Leads To Even More | @curiositydotcom

Very interesting article from curiosity.com. New research identified the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex as the center of our sense of win. Winning leads to more win. On the flip side, losing lose to more losses. However, a new win cannot overcome past losses to help your get back in the winning steak. What is it due to? Persistence. The dorsomedial prefrontal cortex is important for persistence. If we're lagging behind, what can we do to pick ourselves up? I imagine we need to nurture ourselves, change the scenario that we're in and get wins under our belt in a different field and come back to the original competition and try again.

PS Curiosity app is outstanding. I highly recommend it if you like curious and love learning.
